Services
Individual counseling allows for appointments with a counselor to address a specific concern(s) through solution-focused therapy to identify and reach your goals. Individual counseling sessions are by appointment only.
Groups and workshops allow for students to connect with others who have similar experiences. Groups and workshops are a great way to gain support while working towards goals. If you’re interested in learning more about joining our groups or workshops, please contact the HCC for a group screening.
Walk-in counseling allows for brief and targeted time with a counselor to explore a specific concern, try counseling out, or for immediate coping.
Light Box Therapy is a new service available to students who might be experiencing seasonal depression or depression symptoms. Light therapy works by mimicking natural light which may help balance serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps functions such as mood, sleep, and other biological processes. Treatment generally begins with 20 to 30 minutes of light box treatment. Most people may benefit from using light therapy early in the day, typically within the first few waking hours of the morning. To schedule a light box therapy appointment, please call the HCC at 262-551-5710 or stop in the office.

HCC staff do not complete interviews for class projects during the school year but may be able to do so in June or August.
Carthage faculty and staff with concerns about a student’s wellness, mental health, or challenging personal situation can submit an alert through Navigate. Learn more about Navigate and how to submit an alert.
