If you plan on graduating this academic year in December, January, May, or August, please take a few minutes to read the information below.

Have you tracked your progress towards graduation through your Academic Progress Report?

Students are subject to the requirements contained in the annual college catalog in effect when they enter Carthage. Students who interrupt schooling for more than one academic year forfeit the right to follow the requirements in the college catalog year of their original entry.

To review your graduation requirements and progress made towards your degree, check your Academic Progress report using the steps below:

  • Log in to Workday using OneLogin
  • Go to your profile
  • Click on the “Academics” tab
  • Select “Academic Progress Report”

If your majors or minors are incorrect, or if you believe something on your degree audit is incorrect, contact the Office of the Registrar. You will not be cleared for graduation if your audit is incomplete.

Have you filled out your Graduation Candidacy Form?

If you appear to be a potential graduate for the upcoming academic year, you will be contacted by the Registrar’s Office in late summer/early fall via your Carthage email and will be given instructions for completing the Graduation Candidacy Form. We use this form to confirm your intent to graduate, collect information regarding the completion of your requirements, find out if you intend to participate in the graduation ceremony, and determine how you would like your name printed on your diploma. All students must submit this form in order to be considered a candidate for graduation.

Do you qualify for Latin Honors?

Latin Honors are determined by your final cumulative grade point average. Transfer students must have at least 64 graded credits at Carthage to receive Latin Honors.

Based on the final cumulative GPA, the standards for Latin Honors are:

  • Cum Laude in recognition of a GPA of at least 3.5 out of 4.0
  • Magna Cum Laude in recognition of a GPA of at least 3.7 out of 4.0
  • Summa Cum Laude in recognition of a GPA of at least 3.9 out of 4.0

When are degrees conferred?

Degrees are conferred four times per academic year, once after the end of each traditional term (Fall, Winter, Spring, or Summer). You will see this change on your final transcripts, and at this time your diploma will be available pending the resolution of any holds on your account.
